Why does the skin under your eyes need special care?

You don't need to be a cosmetologist or dermatologist to notice that the skin under the eyes differs from the rest of the face. So why not give it special attention and cater precisely to its needs? This article is precisely about the delicate, sensitive eye area.

Why is the skin under the eyes unique?

The skin around the eyes is one of the most delicate and sensitive areas of our face. By nature, it is thin and lacks sebaceous glands, making it less resistant to dryness and quicker to lose elasticity. This is why proper care of this area is so important, as wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness appear much faster here than on the rest of the face. The skin under the eyes has a reduced ability to regenerate, which further makes it more susceptible to the harmful effects of external factors such as UV radiation and air pollution.

Factors such as stress, lack of sleep, or an unsuitable diet can exacerbate the problem, and when the skin around the eyes becomes dry and thin, it becomes more prominent – blood vessels start to show through, leading to the formation of dark circles. Additionally, with age, this skin loses its density, which can lead to the appearance of wrinkles and furrows. However, it is worth remembering that the condition of the skin under the eyes is also influenced by genes, hormonal changes (especially after menopause), and habits like smoking. Frequent sun exposure or an inadequate diet, poor in vitamins and omega acids, also have consequences for this delicate area.

Professional facial care cosmetics can, of course, help, but it's best to opt for products specifically designed for the eye area.

Common problems with the skin around the eyes

The skin around the eyes is an area that is naturally more susceptible to signs of aging and emerging problems. The most common include puffiness and dark circles under the eyes, which can have many causes. Fatigue, stress, poor blood circulation, or excess pigmentation – these are just some of the factors that can lead to dark circles. Many people also complain about puffiness resulting from water retention.

Another challenge that concerns many people is fine lines and expression wrinkles. Crow's feet, wrinkles on the eyelids, or furrows appearing at the corners of the eyes are the effects of the natural aging process, as well as sun exposure or dry skin. This is why it is so important to take care of the skin around the eyes. It is best to start as early as possible, although, of course, better late than never. However, it is a myth that it is worth waiting until the age of 30 or until signs of aging appear. Teenagers can successfully use eye cream.

Which ingredients do we use for eye area care?

Caring for the skin around the eyes requires the use of appropriate ingredients that will support its delicate structure and prevent premature aging. Our effective eye cream contains many ingredients, specially selected for this area. One of them is marine ferment extract, which effectively firms the skin, smooths wrinkles, and lifts the upper eyelids. Biopeptides, which mimic the action of retinol, have anti-aging properties, give the skin radiance, and help fight the signs of aging. Centella asiatica is a plant with soothing properties that calms irritation and supports skin regeneration.

Another important ingredient is a mineral complex, which includes magnesium, zinc, and copper. These minerals revitalize the skin, improve its oxygenation, and smooth the complexion, additionally protecting it from the harmful effects of glycation. Natural bisabolol, obtained biotechnologically, is known for its soothing properties, making it an ideal ingredient for caring for sensitive skin around the eyes.

To brighten the skin and improve microcirculation, it is also worth reaching for caffeine, which reduces puffiness and gives the skin a healthy, radiant appearance. Bakuchiol, a natural alternative to retinol, effectively reduces discoloration and wrinkles, while rosehip seed oil and broccoli seed oil strengthen the skin's protective barrier, moisturize it, and reduce dark circles under the eyes thanks to their high content of linoleic acid and vitamin K. Thanks to this, you can give your skin more attention, which it certainly deserves.

How to correctly use eye cream?

To achieve the best results, it is important to ensure proper application of eye cream. Start by gently squeezing the tube and applying a small amount of the product to the skin around the eyes. You don't need a lot of product; it's not the quantity that does the work here. Then, using slow, circular motions, gently massage the cream until it is fully absorbed. Be careful not to rub the skin too hard – the eye area is very sensitive, and too intense rubbing can irritate it.

For optimal results, apply the cream morning and evening. Regularity is key to success! If lifting eye cream has not yet found its way into your daily skincare routine, it's time to change that. It's never too early or too late to start caring for this special area of the face. Remember that the skin around the eyes is thinner and more prone to wrinkles and loss of elasticity, so it's worth incorporating eye cream into your routine – it will work both preventatively and restoratively. Regular use of such a cosmetic will help you maintain a youthful appearance and radiant complexion around the eyes.
