Danuta Mieloch, founder of Rescue Spa and Danucera, in an interview with MindBodyGreen
"Beautiful skin is a matter of choice, not chance." Known for her iconic skin care ethos, celebrity aesthetician Danuta Mieloch is a multidisciplinary force in the industry. Known for her hyper-luxury spas and introducing the iconic classic skincare brand Biologique Recherche to the United States, Mieloch is also known for Danucera, her capsule collection of clean beauty.
In an interview with Alexandra Engler of MindBodyGreen, Mieloch details how the daily choices we make for our skin have a greater impact than we realize and some key takeaways to help you activate and maintain beautiful skin!
Don’t Confuse Routine with Stagnation
Consistency is key, but change can be important too.
According to Mieloch, "The magic of the skin is that it is a living organ that reproduces and grows back... the skin is constantly changing." Make sure your routine is a daily habit, but understand that your skin's needs change over time, and the best way to maintain your skin is to adjust your routine as needed.
The Benefits of Clean Beauty
"If products are well-made, it's not just about the active ingredient, because it can only be a small percentage. So what is the base? It's very important that the base is also beneficial to the skin."
- Danuta Mieloch
Clean beauty prioritizes ingredients that are safe and beneficial not only for the body, but also for the planet. When creating the Danucera line, clean beauty was the highest priority!
Danucera's clean beauty standards started with Danuta's holistic approach to health and well-being. She believes that natural nutrients - not laboratory ingredients - are the foundation of excellent skin care and self-care. Inspired by age-old cosmetic solutions, as well as the health of our planet and our bodies, DANUCERA™ adheres to clean beauty standards (paraben-free, phthalate-free, phenol-free, silicone-free, perfume-free, and more). The products are naturally derived, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, and sustainably sourced and packaged.
Firming products should become a priority (regardless of age!).
There is a misconception that only people with mature skin should prioritize firming. This is not true. In skin care, prevention is always the best way to go!
"I'm 50, so I need firming ingredients, but someone even younger might need pore-level firming. Younger people can benefit from firming because it can help with facial structure and, for example, pore constriction," she says. Mieloch advises everyone to try to incorporate ingredients such as retinols, antioxidants, and peptides to firm the skin and prevent sagging.
