Beautiful skin season. What should ideal summer skincare look like?
In summer, the skin works more intensively – it battles UV radiation, high temperatures, humidity, and pollution. The result? Overproduction of sebum, clogged pores, blackheads, acne, and at the same time… dehydration, which can affect every skin type.
What is the key to healthy skin in summer?
👉 Sun protection – SPF is an absolute must, not just on the beach. It protects against discoloration, photoaging, and skin cancer.
👉 Beware of ingredients – retinol, strong AHA acids, or citrus oils can increase sun sensitivity. It's better to use them in the evening or avoid them completely during holidays.
👉 Gentle cleansing – a two-step cleansing routine is a must-have, especially with regular use of sunscreens. It's important that products are effective but gentle and do not disrupt the skin's hydrolipid barrier.
👉 Hydration and regeneration – after a day in the sun, reach for light serums, gel masks, and ingredients that support the skin barrier (e.g., minerals, vitamin C, niacinamide).
👉 Good habits – avoid the sun between 11 AM and 3 PM, wear a hat and sunglasses, drink at least 2 liters of water daily, and eat antioxidant-rich foods.
In summer, the skin needs protection, cleansing, and hydration. A simple routine plus a few conscious choices will keep it healthy and radiant throughout the season.
