BUST LOUIS XIV NAVY BLUE
Absolute power: chin raised, chest proudly puffed out and a contemptuous posture — the Sun King reigns supreme. Immortalised in a monumental seven-meter sculpture by François Girardon (1699), "Louis XIV à cheval" occupied a central place in Place Vendôme before being toppled in 1792 during the French Revolution. Today, housed in the Louvre's collections, the bust still dominates — recreated on a smaller scale. An iconic royal figure and symbol of "l'art à la française", Louis XIV now gazes upon the Trudon bust collection.
